Homeland Contracting is Awarded Monarch Bank's 2013 Top Flight Award

Chesapeake, VA – March 21, 2013: Homeland Contracting has been awarded the 2013 Monarch Bank 'Top Flight Award'. Started by Monarch Bank in 2011 during the height of the economic downturn, the Top Flight award serves to help local small businesses continue to grow. An independent panel of judges reviewed all entries and selected three Top Flight semifinalists with Homeland Contracting ultimately chosen as the award winner. Like Monarch Bank, Homeland Contracting Corporation is a locally owned and operated firm, and keeps its dollars local by partnering with local firms to support local charities and industry organizations. This past year, Homeland employees received paid time for their attendance at fundraising events that occurred during business hours. Events included the Salvation Army "Toys for Tots Christmas Depot," the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia's "Thanksgiving Food Drive," which provided food for over 800 families in need, and Tidewater Youth Services "Back to School Drive," whereby 175 backpacks were filled with school supplies and distributed to local kids. By involving its employees in volunteer days and paying for continuing education HCC employees are well-rounded and trained and provide a sustainable workforce to support the growth of a company that is continuing an exciting climb to the top of the industry.
