This project included the roof replacement to a historic property. Existing slate ridge and slate shingles, underlayment, copper flashing, gutters and downspouts were removed and replaced. Also replaced was the wood decking, as required. Salvageable shingles that were still in good shape were reinstalled and supplemented with new slate shingles. Work also included the prepping and painting of the existing wood cupolas, building entablature, fascia and trim. Electrical conduit was loosened, as required, to perform the work, and then reattached. The existing built-up roofing system was completely removed in two areas to include flashing and insulation, and a modified bituminous roofing system, to include insulation, flashing and miscellaneous nailers, was installed.
