JEB Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia
Work on this project included the replacement of both the ascending and descending escalators within the main lobby. Because this retail outlet is fully operational to the public between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm, construction crews were required to set up temporary barricades to work around the NEX shoppers. A temporary storefront was constructed to ensure enough space was made for the escalator frames. The escalator frames were delivered on-site in one piece. Utilizing cranes and a specially trained crew, the escalators were carefully guided through the temporary storefronts. Other incidental work included installing handrails, the replacement of mirrors and wood paneling, and sprinkler system and flooring repair.
